12-13-10 Dear Sasha, One of my very close friends has a new step-dad who is so amazing and cute. I’m in a spot since I think that he and I have developed strong feelings for each other. (I may even be falling in love!) He has just married my friend’s mom because he got her […]

Thursday’s Thoughts From a Bartender: Making Out in Public

By Jack Elliot PDA. It doesn’t look so bad when you read it- just three simple letters minding their own business, respectfully keeping their appendages to themselves, and not really doing anything to disturb you. But when these letters are taken off the page and are brought into reality, they can get ugly real fast, […]

Thought’s on Getting Stood Up

Posted by

By Nicholas Lynn When I think of the term “getting stood up” I instantly picture a single female, sitting alone in a restaurant at a dining table, awaiting the arrival of some male who committed to meeting her there with the promise of a good time (and a potential marriage no doubt) who never actually […]

Thursday’s Thoughts From a Bartender: He’s Asking Me Out – But Invading My Personal Space

Posted by

By Jack Elliot It’s your safe little bubble against the outside world. It’s your haven from strangers around you. It’s your zone. It’s your sanctuary. It’s personal space. But all too often, I’ll witness as these fragile personal space bubbles, and most often those belonging to women, are popped and trampled on by eager, overbearing […]

A Woman’s POV: How it Makes Me Feels When…. Being Alone

How It Feels When…. I am Completely OK Being Alone By Dani Katz If we channeled all the energy that we, as a species, put into seeking love outside ourselves – be it trolling for snacks at the farmer’s market, hunting big game on personal site X, or dolling up to pose boozy and available […]

By Patrick D. Curry “Could you pass me the keys to the car?” she asks him as she stares directly into his eyes. “But honey, there aren’t any pomegranates on sale,” he responds, as he absentmindedly gazes into the sky. Although communication between males and females isn’t usually so completely discordant and illogical as the […]

Respect, Personal Space & Gayle King

Posted by

By Jennifer Kelton My close encounter with Gayle King is an in-flight tale. Four years ago, I wrote a book on dating and mating titled: Don’t Use My Sweater Like a Towel. Despite the blunt title, the book is ultimately a non-fiction story about: life, love, human nature and, most important, respect. The man who […]

Thursday’s Thoughts From a Bartender: Does Your Cocktail Send Out a Dating and Mating Message?

Posted by

By Jack Elliot “One whiskey coke when you get a chance, man.” “Hi, I would like a very dry apple martini. Remember, very dry.” “Just whatever good beer you have on tap works for me.” Hi yes, I’ll take a mojito, with extra mint leaves.” Orders like these are just some of the things one […]

About Jennifer Kelton

Jennifer KeltonI did not wake up one morning and say “hey I think I’d like a man use my sweater like a towel, write a candid dating book, become a dating expert, the CEO and founder of a social dating site and have three blogs.”

All of this has happened in a slow burn and here I am. The good, the bad, the mistakes, way too many tears shed to count, lots of wine and oh my goodness a huge learning curve that leaves me much of the time saying, “I’m sorry but this is all new to me.”
