I did not wake-up one morning and say “hey I think I’d like a man use my sweater like a towel, write a candid dating book, become a dating advisor, the CEO and founder of a social dating community and have four blogs.”
All of this has happened in a slow burn, and here I am.
The good, the bad, the mistakes, way too many tears shed to count, lots of wine and oh my goodness a huge learning curve that leaves me much of the time saying, “I’m sorry but this is all new to me.”
I have a saying in life, “that as long as you are genuine in your pursuit you will be fine.”
Well, somehow that saying has led me here as a humanitarian, environmentalist, artist, entrepreneur, CEO and athlete. (Thank god for snowboarding, the ocean and my morning runs that are more about keeping me sane and less about my ass.)
OK – and just how do you earn a Ph.D. in dating? 30 years of dating! Yes, I had my first boyfriend when I was 12 — I’ve also never been afraid to try and experience new things.
For me living life in a “genuine” way means that I’m acquiring knowledge, gathering new information and sharing my observations.
I believe that we are all hardwired to want, “to feel loved, to feel safe and to have companionship.” Much of what I see with dating is that it may strip away those feelings.
If I can make just one person feel better with a piece of advice or with something I have posted here, that makes me a genuinely happy woman!
